Before you buy a used 35Ti & 28Ti
- Electronic and hard to repair: ask for a film test.
- Check the top dials move when you change settings.
- Point and shoots are mostly electronic and rarely worth repairing: ask for a film-tested camera, not just "powers on".
- Check the lens extends, the flash fires and the film door shuts firmly.
- Pay through eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers a camera that doesn't work as described, but only if you pay through eBay. Our used film camera checklist has the tests to do the day it arrives.
Battery: CR2. The camera won't work without it. Battery finder →
Questions buyers ask
How much is a used 35Ti & 28Ti worth?
On eBay UK today a tested / working Nikon 35Ti & 28Ti typically costs £989 delivered, with most between £958 and £1,273. These are asking prices, so many sell for a little less, especially with Best Offer.
Is it cheaper to buy a 35Ti & 28Ti from Japan?
36 of the 41 Nikon 35Ti & 28Ti listings on eBay UK right now are posted from Japan. The cheapest tested one from Japan is £729 including about 20% import VAT, against £1,220 for the cheapest tested one from a UK seller. Japanese dealers grade cosmetic condition carefully ("Near Mint", "Exc+5"), but you pay import VAT and sometimes a courier fee, and returns take longer. All the prices on this page already include the VAT estimate.
What battery does the 35Ti & 28Ti take?
CR2.
Is a tested 35Ti & 28Ti worth paying more for?
Right now tested examples are listed at about £118 (11%) less than ones where the seller doesn't say. A film-tested camera is the safest buy: an untested one can need a service costing £60 to £150.
What should I check before buying a used 35Ti & 28Ti?
Electronic and hard to repair: ask for a film test. Check the top dials move when you change settings.
Are these sold prices?
