Prices from outside the UK include about 20% import VAT. Over £135 the courier may add a handling fee, and customs duty can apply. Work out the full cost with the import cost calculator.

A * after the working status means it comes from the seller's description, not the title.

Before you buy a used Rollei 35

  1. You must wind on before collapsing the lens: forcing it breaks the camera.
  2. Check the meter and the zone focus.
  3. Point and shoots are mostly electronic and rarely worth repairing: ask for a film-tested camera, not just "powers on".
  4. Check the lens extends, the flash fires and the film door shuts firmly.
  5. Pay through eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers a camera that doesn't work as described, but only if you pay through eBay. Our used film camera checklist has the tests to do the day it arrives.

Battery: PX625 mercury cell (discontinued): use a 1.35V zinc-air 675 cell in an adapter, or a Wein cell, for accurate metering (meter only). The shutter works without one. Battery finder →

Questions buyers ask

How much is a used Rollei 35 worth?

On eBay UK today a tested / working Rollei 35 typically costs £263 delivered, with most between £209 and £310. Untested or faulty ones go for about £238. These are asking prices, so many sell for a little less, especially with Best Offer.

Is it cheaper to buy a Rollei 35 from Japan?

43 of the 124 Rollei 35 listings on eBay UK right now are posted from Japan. The cheapest tested one from Japan is £204 including about 20% import VAT, against £75 for the cheapest tested one from a UK seller. Japanese dealers grade cosmetic condition carefully ("Near Mint", "Exc+5"), but you pay import VAT and sometimes a courier fee, and returns take longer. All the prices on this page already include the VAT estimate.

What battery does the Rollei 35 take?

PX625 mercury cell (discontinued): use a 1.35V zinc-air 675 cell in an adapter, or a Wein cell, for accurate metering (meter only). The shutter works without a battery; it only powers the meter.

Is a tested Rollei 35 worth paying more for?

Right now tested examples are listed at about £15 (5%) less than ones where the seller doesn't say. A film-tested camera is the safest buy: an untested one can need a service costing £60 to £150.

What should I check before buying a used Rollei 35?

You must wind on before collapsing the lens: forcing it breaks the camera. Check the meter and the zone focus.

Are these sold prices?

No, they're asking prices from live eBay listings, refreshed daily. We record the daily typical price, so the history chart shows how asking prices move.
