Prices from outside the UK include about 20% import VAT. Over £135 the courier may add a handling fee, and customs duty can apply. Work out the full cost with the import cost calculator.
A * after the working status means it comes from the seller's description, not the title.
Before you buy a used Leitz Minolta CL
- The meter arm can break: check the needle moves.
- Not the Leica CL digital (2017).
- Check the rangefinder patch is bright and lines up at infinity and vertically.
- Check the shutter at every speed and the light seals around the back.
- Pay through eBay. eBay's Money Back Guarantee covers a camera that doesn't work as described, but only if you pay through eBay. Our used film camera checklist has the tests to do the day it arrives.
Battery: PX625 mercury cell (discontinued): use a 1.35V zinc-air 675 cell in an adapter, or a Wein cell, for accurate metering. The shutter works without one. Battery finder →
Questions buyers ask
How much is a used Leitz Minolta CL worth?
On eBay UK today a working not stated, body only Leica Leitz Minolta CL typically costs £936 delivered, with most between £666 and £1,327. A tested body on its own is about £633. These are asking prices, so many sell for a little less, especially with Best Offer.
Is it cheaper to buy a Leitz Minolta CL from Japan?
17 of the 27 Leica Leitz Minolta CL listings on eBay UK right now are posted from Japan. The cheapest tested one from Japan is £569 including about 20% import VAT, against £493 for the cheapest tested one from a UK seller. Japanese dealers grade cosmetic condition carefully ("Near Mint", "Exc+5"), but you pay import VAT and sometimes a courier fee, and returns take longer. All the prices on this page already include the VAT estimate.
What battery does the Leitz Minolta CL take?
PX625 mercury cell (discontinued): use a 1.35V zinc-air 675 cell in an adapter, or a Wein cell, for accurate metering. The shutter works without a battery; it only powers the meter.
What should I check before buying a used Leitz Minolta CL?
The meter arm can break: check the needle moves. Not the Leica CL digital (2017).
